Zareh Sinanyan, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, addressed our compatriots abroad in a video message. He expressed gratitude to all those diaspora structures and individuals who are providing practical and professional support to the homeland in the fight against the coronavirus. He assured that no effort or means would be spared to win that fight with minimal losses.
“The whole world these days is fighting against the coronavirus pandemic, and the Armenian people, with its worldwide reach, has not remained outside this fight. In these crisis conditions, the government of Armenia has taken a number of steps to limit the spread of the pandemic, to provide appropriate treatment to the sick, to support the most vulnerable socio-economic segments and to stimulate the economy. I assure you that we will spare no effort or means to win this fight with minimal losses.
And despite the fact that our compatriots living in the Diaspora are also living and working under extraordinary conditions, today the Diaspora continues to stand by the homeland. I want to express gratitude to all those diaspora structures and individuals who are providing practical and professional support to the homeland.
The life, health and well-being of each one of you are very important to the homeland’s government.
In these difficult days, I ask you to follow the instructions and restrictions of the authorities of your countries of residence, not to panic, to follow only reliable information and the guidance of official health bodies, to wash your hands frequently, to maintain social distance, to stay home and in this way to ease the responsible work of the doctors.
Be healthy and safe and maintain vigilance and optimism. The fight will be long and hard, but we will win together. Until we meet again in our homeland for all of us,” was said in the video message.
