16 members of the electoral list of the “Civil Contract” party have filed self-withdrawal applications with the CEC. This means that these candidates for deputy, who occupied positions in the upper part of the list, will assume other offices.
Below we present the individuals who have declared self-withdrawal and their positions.
A self-withdrawal application has been filed by the head of the Civil Contract list, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He is the ruling force’s candidate for prime minister.
The current Speaker of Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan has also renounced his mandate. What position Mirzoyan will assume is not yet known.
Lilit Makunts, who holds the 3rd spot on the list and is the head of the “My Step” faction in the current parliament, will soon be appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the USA.
The 4th spot on the list, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan, who according to reports in the press will soon be appointed Deputy Prime Minister, has also filed for self-withdrawal.
A self-withdrawal application has also been filed by the head of the Prime Minister’s staff Arayik Harutyunyan. It is presumed that he has decided to retain his position in the executive branch.
Among those filing for self-withdrawal are also Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan, Governor of Shirak Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Governor of Gegharkunik Gnel Sanosyan, Governor of Armavir Hambardzum Matevosyan, Governor of Lori Aram Khachatryan, Governor of Aragatsotn David Kevorkyan, Mayor of Vagharshapat Diana Gasparyan, Secretary of the “My Step” faction Hagop Simidyan, First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan, and First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan.
The deadline set by the CEC for self-withdrawal applications expires tomorrow at 18:00. It is not excluded that there will be other self-withdrawals before then.
Let us recall that in the 8th convocation parliament, the Civil Contract party will have 71 mandates.
