Aram Torosyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defence, wrote on his Facebook page about the women soldiers who fell during the Azerbaijani attacks, mentioning their names.
“During the large-scale aggression (attack) unleashed against the Republic of Armenia on 13 September 2022, women soldiers and members of the territorial forces also displayed shining examples of unyielding will, courage of spirit and devotion to the homeland — Susanna Margari Grigoryan, Anush Ashoti Abetyan, Alisa Suren Melkonyan, Irina Karlen Gasparyan and others. Fulfilling to the end the sacred mission of defending the homeland’s border entrusted to them, they displayed exceptional bravery, unwavering determination to defend, withstood the continuous attacks of a numerically superior enemy, inflicting heavy losses in manpower upon it, and continuing the centuries-old tradition of our glorious women warriors”:
