Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated yesterday that Russia regards the trilateral agreements at the highest level as the basis for advancing the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and continues to work energetically with Baku and Yerevan in all directions, including the unblocking of economic and transport links, the launch of the delimitation process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and negotiations on a peace treaty. Armenpress reported this.
“The Russian side emphasizes the readiness of Azerbaijan and Armenia to move towards each other; trilateral communications on this matter are being developed at a high level,” she added.
“In supporting Yerevan and Baku in the matter of preparing a peace treaty, the Russian side is guided by proposals concerning the fundamental principles of establishing interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Zakharova added.
“Let me remind you that they were prepared in Baku and received a constructive response from Yerevan. We believe they are a good basis for harmonizing positions. There are fundamental disagreements between Baku and Yerevan on the issue of status. We see our role as helping the parties to come closer,” said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
