50,000 Doses of Moderna Vaccine Arrive in Armenia

Lithuania has transferred 50,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to Armenia, as the Lithuanian prime minister had announced days earlier.  The vaccine handover ceremony took place on the evening of 4 October at Vilnius airport, as the delegation led by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was returning to Armenia. Lithuania provided the humanitarian aid in response to Armenia’s request, based on a bilateral agreement through the EU vaccine-sharing mechanism. During the official visit, the health ministers of Lithuania and Armenia signed a cooperation agreement. This is the first time Lithuania has donated Moderna vaccines.
