The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to carry out its tasks in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
As reported by Armenpress, citing the Russian Ministry of Defence, the Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation at twenty-seven observation posts and control over the maintenance of the ceasefire regime.
“The ceasefire regime is being maintained along the entire line of contact,” the report said.
The Russian peacekeepers are ensuring the safe return of citizens to their permanent places of residence and the restoration of civilian infrastructure facilities, and humanitarian assistance is being provided to the population.
In total, since 14 November 2020, 52,700 people have returned to their former places of residence in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The sapper groups of the Humanitarian Demining Centre continue demining operations in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. In one day, 13 hectares of territory, 4 km of roads, and 15 buildings and structures were cleared, and 43 explosive objects were discovered and removed for destruction. In total, since 23 November 2020, 1,474 hectares of territory, 457 km of roads, and 1,440 buildings and structures have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, including 30 socially significant facilities, and 24,870 explosive objects have been discovered and neutralised.
The Russian peacekeepers ensured the safe passage of six convoys of the Azerbaijani armed forces: four through the Lachin corridor in the northern and southern directions, one through Shushi-Karmir Shuka-Kajar, and one in the opposite direction.
In the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, continuous interaction is maintained with the general staffs of the Azerbaijani and Armenian armed forces to coordinate efforts to prevent possible incidents.
