Due to the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by Azerbaijan, 8 individuals with oncological diseases and pathologies requiring urgent surgical intervention have been transferred today, 21 February, from the “Republican Medical Center” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh to specialized medical centers of the Republic of Armenia, through the mediation and accompaniment of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
As announced by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, 5 patients, who were referred to Armenia for treatment within the framework of the state order, have returned to Artsakh with their escorts.
In medical institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, scheduled surgeries continue to remain suspended.
In the “Arevik” medical association, 5 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units.
In the “Republican Medical Center,” 7 patients are in the intensive care unit, 3 of whom are in extremely critical condition.
Until today, a total of 113 patients have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia through the mediation and accompaniment of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
