Because of the blockade by Azerbaijan of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, 9 patients with oncological diseases and pathologies requiring urgent surgery were transferred today, 3 March, from the “Republican Medical Center” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh to specialized medical centers of the Republic of Armenia, through the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
7 patients, who had been referred to Armenia for treatment within the framework of the state order, returned to Artsakh with their escorts.
In the medical institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, scheduled surgeries continue to remain suspended.
In the “Arevik” medical association, a child is in the neonatal and intensive care units.
In the “Republican Medical Center,” 8 patients are in the intensive care unit, 2 of whom are in extremely critical condition.
Until today, a total of 144 patients have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia through the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
