On Friday, 7 August 2020, a delegation of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party’s Lebanon Regional Board, headed by ADL Central Board member Dr. Avedis Dakesian, paid a visit to His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, at the Antelias Catholicosate.
The delegation headed by Dr. Avedis Dakesian included Lebanon ADL Regional Board members Dr. Vigen Asilyan, Vigen Tosunyan and Dr. Joseph Kerpoyan.
The ADL Lebanon Regional Board delegation conveyed to the Catholicos the Central Board’s full support for His Holiness’s initiative and pontifical call regarding the reconstruction of the Armenian community of Lebanon. Then, Dr. Avedis Dakesian, on behalf of the Central Board, presented to His Holiness the party’s most recent decisions, as well as its future outlook.
First of all, the Catholicos appreciated the party’s readiness to practically participate in the reconstruction efforts of the Armenian community of Lebanon, stressing that the reconstruction of the Armenian community of Lebanon has pan-national significance and must be carried out through a pan-national effort. He then underscored the important role of the Ramgavar party in the life of the Armenian people in general and particularly of the Armenian diaspora. The party has made significant contributions in the realms of Armenian national demands, culture, education and other fields.
He also stated that the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia has always stood in support of the patriotic and nation-building mission of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, alongside the other parties.
