On Monday, 18 December, at 9:00 in the morning, a delegation from the ADL Lebanon Regional Board, headed by the Board’s chairman and member of the ADL Central Board, Dr. Avedis Dakesian, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. The delegation was received by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Lebanon, Mr. Vahagn Atabekian. Consul Mr. Leonard Bedrosian also took part in the meeting. The delegation conveyed the greetings of the ADL Lebanon chapter to the esteemed Ambassador.
The main issues concerning the Armenian community of Lebanon were discussed — the economic crisis and the instability of the region. The geopolitical situation of the Republic of Armenia following the displacement of the population of Artsakh was also discussed. The delegation expressed the hope that the Homeland will overcome the present difficulties. It appreciated the level of relations that exist between the Party and the leadership of the Republic of Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, the importance of Diaspora-Armenia cooperation in various fields was emphasised. The main purpose of the Diaspora’s work is the development of Armenia and the overcoming of all challenges. We must work to organise the Diaspora as a pillar for a prosperous Armenia of the future.
