On Thursday, 20 August 2020, a delegation from the ADL Lebanon Regional Board, headed by Avetis Dagesyan and accompanied by Vazgen Zhamkochyan and Joseph Krpoyan, visited the President of the Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East, Rev. Mkrtich Karageozian, at the Union’s Ashrafieh office.
The delegation conveyed to the Reverend the greetings of the ADL Central Board and its unconditional stance of supporting our people’s children who were affected by the disaster that recently struck Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. An exchange of views took place regarding the activities of the Lebanese-Armenian Reconstruction Body. The parties stressed the necessity of extending a helping hand to the Lebanese-Armenian community so that it may withstand these difficult conditions.
Reverend Karageozian, for his part, stressed the importance of supporting our nation’s children so that they may remain attached to the Lebanese homeland. He deemed it important that, by joining hands, the work of standing up and supporting our people’s children be carried out, in order to secure dignified living conditions for them.
At the end of the meeting, which lasted about an hour, the parties promised to continue communicating in order to overcome all the obstacles facing our people.
