During the second and third quarters of this year, the number of children born in Armenia is higher than in the same period last year, wrote Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
“If during that period last year 18,258 children were born, then during the second and third quarters of this year the number of children born was 18,493, or 235 more.
“The increase in the number of births is not large, of course, but it must be taken into account that over the past at least 5 years that indicator was, to put it mildly, plummeting, which becomes evident from examining the attached chart.
“Thus, we can record that after the revolution, positive expectations for the future among Armenian families have increased, and the necessary time was required for those expectations to become apparent in the form of an increase in the number of children born.
“Let us add to this that after the revolution, an increase in the number of marriages and a decrease in the number of divorces continues to be recorded,” wrote Pashinyan.
