I hope that 2023 will be a turning-point year in the process of regulating relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev at a meeting in Baku with Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“It should be noted that Russia has a special role in contributing to the regulation of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Last year, important efforts were made in this direction; documents of a conceptual nature for a future peace agreement were adopted, namely documents defining the mutual recognition of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the two countries.
The documents adopted in Prague and Sochi last October confirmed this. These documents are the basis on which a peace agreement can be reached. In any case, we are determined to carry out positive and constructive work with the Armenian side and our friend and neighbour Russia, in order to quickly turn this page of enmity and return peace to the South Caucasus.” — Aliev noted.
