Armenia’s economic activity index in January 2023 increased by 10.5 percent compared to January of the previous year, while this year’s January figure decreased by 46.1 percent compared to December 2022. This is confirmed by data published by the Republic of Armenia’s Statistical Committee.
The volume of industrial output in January of this year increased by 1.4 percent compared to January of the previous year. The volume of construction in January of this year increased by 12.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In trade turnover, the increase in January compared to January 2022 was 17.7 percent. The volume of services provided in Armenia in January 2023 increased by 25.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January 2023, the consumer price index increased by 8.1 percent compared to January 2022. The industrial output price index in January increased by 1.6 percent compared to January of the previous year. Meanwhile, the volume of electricity production in the first month of this year decreased by 1.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In foreign trade turnover, a 93.8 percent increase was recorded in January of this year compared to the same period of the previous year. In particular, exports increased 2.3 times, while imports increased by 72.5 percent.
