Azerbaijan’s latest attack, carried out with unbridled insolence, on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and such savage designs, endanger even the existence of our people. Because border confrontations of this kind are clear evidence of the Azerbaijani-Turkish regional policy, which consistently aims to break or breach the current peace agendas, as well as to further entrench the polarisation and pluralism that exist among our people.
In this regard, first and foremost —
we firmly affirm that the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of the borders of our homeland must, without doubt, be ensured;
we are hopeful that the Russian Federation will honour its treaty and allied obligations and will call to order the shamelessly aggressive Azerbaijan through necessary diplomatic means and, if need be, military steps. Otherwise, it is imperative that we rely on alternatives.
we call upon the international community to effectively condemn Azerbaijan’s hostile assault, while at the same time demanding the return home of all prisoners.
Azerbaijan must immediately and without any equivocation withdraw from all Armenian lands.
In these alarming days of the pandemic, when the United Nations is calling for the avoidance of clashes, Azerbaijan’s unforgivable attack on the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia must be condemned as an international crime.
At the same time, we call, in the interest of strengthening the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people, in the face of the threatening danger of new military developments, to set aside all internal disagreements and reservations, and to put an end both to exaggerated attributions and to unwarranted defamation. More than ever, it is necessary to unite around national existential interests, to defend with one fist against the military, savage and ever-growing appetites of our enemies, which constitute serious violations not only against Armenia but also of international law.
In parallel, we owe our utmost support and unconditional solidarity to our heroic army.
In particular, far from the borders of the homeland, the pledge of the Armenian Diaspora is unwavering organisation, to fight on all international platforms, to defend the security of our people of the homeland and the inviolability of the borders of the Homeland, on legal and all other grounds.
The Republic of Armenia, in this post-war phase, is entering the most pivotal and sensitive period of its history, and in this regard, the main working agendas of the Diaspora must be implemented with targeted messages, operating through common and coherent structures, to achieve the most effective and favourable results for our Homeland.
More than ever, the salvation of the Armenian people lies in its collective strength.
