As a result of the Lachin corridor being closed for about 18 days, the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is worsening day by day. Hundreds of families in Nagorno-Karabakh continue to remain divided, finding themselves on different sides of the blockade. The shortage of essential goods is becoming increasingly noticeable. Shop windows are empty, restrictions are being introduced on food supplies to public stores, and the public is in a state of socio-psychological tension. Nikol Pashinyan said this at a government meeting.
He noted that a working group will be formed, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
“There are all signs to assert that Azerbaijan is preparing another military provocation, including in Nagorno-Karabakh. I will say frankly that the Republic of Armenia is a convinced supporter of the presence of Russian peacekeepers in NK and an advocate of that presence, but we find unacceptable the increasingly visible practice of Russian peacekeepers of becoming silent witnesses to the depopulation of NK. In any case, we must work closely with the Russian Federation and other international partners on clarifying these issues, so as not to allow further escalation of the situation and to reach comprehensive settlements,” the Prime Minister stressed.
