Armen Charchyan Stripped of Parliamentary Immunity

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia approved the motion submitted by the Prosecutor General regarding consent to initiate criminal prosecution against Armen Charchyan, a deputy of the “Armenia” faction. After a closed secret ballot, the chairman of the Counting Commission, Narek Babayan, announced that of the 107 deputies of the National Assembly, 68 deputies participated in the vote, one ballot was declared invalid, and 67 deputies voted in favor. The criminal proceedings related to Charchyan, for which the prosecution wishes to initiate public criminal prosecution, concern the case of Artur Roberti Sargsyan, known by the name “Bread Bringer.”

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia approved the motion submitted by the Prosecutor General regarding consent to initiate criminal prosecution against Armen Charchyan, a deputy of the “Armenia” faction.

After a closed secret ballot, the chairman of the Counting Commission, Narek Babayan, announced that of the 107 deputies of the National Assembly, 68 deputies participated in the vote, one ballot was declared invalid, and 67 deputies voted in favor.

The criminal proceedings related to Charchyan, for which the prosecution wishes to initiate public criminal prosecution, concern the case of Artur Roberti Sargsyan, known by the name “Bread Bringer.” As an expert in the composition of the commission for the repeated commission forensic examination appointed in that case, on February 8, 2017, he gave a repeated forensic commission examination, according to what was presented, a false conclusion.
