Armenia is considering the possibility of recognizing the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. The TASS agency reports that this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a conversation with several Russian media outlets. He added that Armenia’s actions are aimed at establishing long-term stability in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Yes, the issue of recognizing the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh is on our agenda. We are also considering the possibility of forming a military-political alliance with Karabakh,” noted Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the Armenian Prime Minister, Armenia ensures its security with or without the participation of the CSTO. He also noted that Armenia is in constant contact with its CSTO partners.
Pashinyan also stated that Armenia is ready to host the meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council scheduled for October 9 in Yerevan.
Responding to a corresponding question from Interfax, Pashinyan said that Armenia is not discussing the possibility of introducing international peacekeepers into the Karabakh conflict zone.
