The global Numbeo database, one of the largest data repositories, which is compiled on the basis of information received from tourists and residents of countries, has published its 2020 crime index ranking by country.
According to the report, Georgia has been placed 130th on that ranking list, as one of the safest countries in the world and the safest in Europe.
Armenia has been placed 122nd on the list, becoming the 12th safest country in the ranking. The crime index in our country has been assessed at 22.69 points, and the safety index at 77.31.
The leading trio on the list of countries free from crime consists of Qatar, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.
Our country is also preceded by Oman, Hong Kong, Slovenia, the Isle of Man, Switzerland, Japan, and Rwanda. Thus, Armenia becomes the 5th safest country in Europe.
Among neighbouring countries, Azerbaijan has been placed 98th, Turkey 83rd, Iran 46th, and Russia is 79th on the list.
The most dangerous countries in terms of crime are Venezuela, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Afghanistan, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, Guyana, El Salvador, and Syria.
