The first flight from Yerevan to Beirut is to take place on the evening of 8 August, by which the Government of the Republic of Armenia will send 12 tons of humanitarian aid to the Government of the Republic of Lebanon.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made a post about this on his Facebook page.
“During the coming week two more flights of humanitarian aid will be carried out. A delegation composed of representatives of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly and the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund will also depart for Beirut,” wrote the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia also posted a video of the discussion regarding what the Armenian government is to do in the situation created after the explosion in Beirut.
During the discussion the Prime Minister emphasised that he had been informed that three flights are currently planned to deliver humanitarian aid to Beirut.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Avinyan stated that the first flight is scheduled for 8 August at 21:00, whose main purpose will be primarily to provide medical aid. “The next flight is planned for Tuesday, and there will be another flight during the coming week. The collection of goods is currently underway. I believe we will have up to 12 tons of cargo on the first flight, which must be transported to Lebanon. Representatives of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly and the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund will also go to Lebanon, in order to familiarise themselves with the situation on the ground, as well as to understand what other means are needed to support both the Lebanese government and the local Armenian community,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
