The «Hayastan» All-Armenian Fund has launched an online fundraising drive to support the Armenians of Lebanon.
«For years, the Armenian community of Lebanon has supported both the Homeland and diaspora communities with great dedication. Now it is our turn to act,» the Fund stated, urging participation in the urgent fundraising campaign.
As a result of the powerful explosion that took place on the evening of 4 August at the port of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, homes, shops, educational and cultural centres and churches in Armenian-populated neighbourhoods were also damaged. According to the latest figures, 11 Armenians were killed and 25 wounded.
