On the morning of 16 August, Azerbaijani armed forces units also resorted to provocation on the Nakhichevan direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, in the Yeraskh section.
In particular, at around 09:50, senior warrant officer Vahan Dimiki Tatossyan, born in 1975, a serviceman of military unit N of the RA Armed Forces, received a fatal gunshot wound from a shot fired by an enemy sniper. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Defense.
“The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the heavy grief of the loss and expresses solidarity with the family members, relatives and comrades-in-arms of the fallen serviceman.
As a result of the response actions taken by the Armenian side, the enemy has suffered losses,” the statement released by the Ministry of Defense said.
