The residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Israel has been relocated to Tel Aviv. The President of the Republic of Armenia has signed a decree amending the decree appointing Armen Smbatyan as Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Israel, which records that the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Israel is being moved from Yerevan to Tel Aviv:
“Based on the Prime Minister’s proposal, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 139 of the Constitution, as well as Article 34 of the Law on Normative Legal Acts, in the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia No. NH-200-A of 31 March 2018 ‘On appointing A. Smbatyan as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the State of Israel’, the words ‘(residence: Yerevan)’ are replaced by the words ‘(residence: Tel Aviv)’,” the presidential decree states.
The Government of the Republic of Armenia had approved the decision to establish an embassy in Tel Aviv in September 2019. Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the State of Israel were established in April 1992. Since March 2018, Armen Smbatyan has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the State of Israel.
