Armenia’s Defense Ministry is verifying data regarding the supply of phosphorus weapons to Azerbaijan.
However, during a briefing held on the evening of November 2, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the representative of the RA Defense Ministry, responded to a question about the manufacturer and supplier that he is not yet able to provide data.
The previous day, Azerbaijani armed forces used phosphorus (incendiary) weapons, which could cause an environmental disaster. There is already information that approximately 150 hectares of forest have been burned. More than 50 organizations have issued a statement strongly condemning Azerbaijan’s use of phosphorus munitions.
