In the first quarter of this year, the economic activity index grew by 9.6 percent. This was reported by the RA Statistical Committee, which published the preliminary data. In March of this year, compared to March of the previous year, the growth was 6.7 percent.
In January-March, compared to the same period of the previous year, the volume of industrial output grew by 3.1 percent, the volume of construction by 6.2 percent, trade turnover by 7.6 percent, and the volume of services by 22.2 percent. Consumer inflation stood at 7.8 percent. In the agricultural sector, a decline of 5.4 percent was recorded.
In the first quarter, compared to the same period of the previous year, foreign trade turnover grew by 38.5 percent, including exports by 26.9 percent and imports by 45.6 percent.
