The issue of restoring the unhindered passage of vehicles through the Lachin corridor and confirming the fact of the corridor’s targeted use was discussed today at a trilateral meeting of representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces.
The parties also discussed issues of electricity supply and uninterrupted gas supply.
In addition, the meeting discussed the possibility of environmental monitoring by Azerbaijani representatives at the Drmbon and Kashen mines.
Agreements were reached regarding further cooperation aimed at reducing tensions and establishing peaceful life in the region.
Ramin Mammadov, a deputy of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, has been appointed as the person responsible for contacts with Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to Azerbaijani sources, on 1 March Mammadov met at the headquarters of the Russian Federation’s peacekeeping contingent with “representatives of Armenian residents” of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The meeting was attended by Masim Mammadov, head of the group on issues of illegal exploitation of natural resources. The group includes experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service for Property Affairs under the Ministry of Economy, and AzerGold CJSC (Closed Joint-Stock Company).
The meeting discussed the reintegration of Armenian residents of the Karabakh region into the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Azerbaijan. Contacts with Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan continue,” the media outlets wrote.
