Artsakh Republic State Minister Krikor Martirosyan, in an interview with RIA Novosti, stated that the Artsakh Republic has appealed to the Russian government, asking for support in housing displaced residents in the post-war situation. Moscow has already allocated part of the assistance.
As the Artsakh official reported, during the latest military conflict in the region, approximately 35-45 thousand Artsakh residents lost their homes. Among them are both residents of houses destroyed by shelling and those whose homes are in territories that came under Azerbaijani control.
“The majority of these people are in Armenia today. Of course, to bring them back, we must provide them with at least the minimum conditions necessary for life and daily needs. That is the government’s priority task. For those who are returning, we immediately provide temporary shelter. We are also using hotels and public buildings,” said Martirosyan.
According to him, the Artsakh authorities have also appealed to the Russian government for help. “As of today, this matter is being discussed. Part of the assistance has already been allocated — both building materials and essential goods, such as blankets and similar items,” added the official.
