Winter conscription to begin on 25 December

The winter conscription for compulsory military and alternative service in the ranks of citizens of the Republic of Armenia is to begin on 25 December. The draft decision on this matter is included in the agenda of the government’s 24 December session. “Declare the winter conscription for compulsory military and alternative service in the ranks of male citizens of the Republic of Armenia from 25 December 2020 to 31 March 2021 inclusive (hereinafter: the 2020 winter conscription), who turn 18 by 31 December 2020 inclusive, as well as those citizens whose previously granted deferment from conscription for compulsory military service

The winter conscription for compulsory military and alternative service in the ranks of citizens of the Republic of Armenia is to begin on 25 December.

The draft decision on this matter is included in the agenda of the government’s 24 December session.

“Declare the winter conscription for compulsory military and alternative service in the ranks of male citizens of the Republic of Armenia from 25 December 2020 to 31 March 2021 inclusive (hereinafter: the 2020 winter conscription), who turn 18 by 31 December 2020 inclusive, as well as those citizens whose previously granted deferment from conscription for compulsory military service in the ranks ends by 31 December 2020 inclusive,” the decision states.

By the government’s decision, it is also envisaged to discharge, within the framework of the 2020 winter conscription, by 14 February 2021 inclusive, servicemen who have completed compulsory military or alternative military service in the ranks within the time limit prescribed by law.
