It has been 10 days now that Artsakh has been under a complete blockade. The Information Headquarters has issued a statement, in which it is said:
“On the morning of December 12, the Azerbaijani side closed the Lachin Corridor under false environmental pretexts, which is the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia and the outside world.
As a result of the Azerbaijani actions, the 120,000 population of Artsakh, of which 30,000 are children, has found itself in a humanitarian crisis. 1,100 citizens, of whom 270 are minors, have no possibility of returning home as a result of the road blockade.
More than two dozen patients with serious health problems, of whom 13 are children, who are in the intensive care units of Artsakh’s medical institutions, need to be immediately transferred to Armenia. 350 patients are unable to receive treatment in Armenia. All planned surgeries have been temporarily suspended in Artsakh.
It is not possible to deliver 400 tons of food and medicine from Armenia to Artsakh every day. The complete transport blockade threatens shortages of food, medicine and fuel.”
