An expanded session of the Artsakh Republic Security Council was convened on 13 December under the chairmanship of Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan, during which the military-political situation created by Azerbaijan’s blockade of the corridor connecting Artsakh with the outside world was discussed.
This was reported by the Main Information Department of the Artsakh Republic President’s Office.
It was emphasised that the uninterrupted operation of the corridor is guaranteed by the trilateral statement of 9 November 2020, the provisions of which are once again being violated by the Azerbaijani side.
The Security Council decided to address, by means of an appropriate letter, the command of the Russian Federation’s peacekeeping forces deployed in the Artsakh Republic, deeming unacceptable the closure of the corridor, which leads to a humanitarian catastrophe in Artsakh.
The President stressed that the Artsakh Republic authorities will take all possible measures to resolve the issues of the population’s security and livelihood.
