Azerbaijan Builds Road Bypassing Lachin

In the territories that came under Azerbaijan’s control as a result of the 44-day war, particularly in what Ilham Aliyev has declared the “economic regions of Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh,” road construction works are underway.

A highway bypassing Lachin is being built, the progress of which has been presented by Azerbaijani media outlets, publishing photographs.

The publications note that the highway bypassing Lachin will have a length of 32 km, the width of the carriageway, according to the project, will be 7 meters, the width of the underground section will be 12 meters, and the width of the roadsides will be 5 meters.

Currently, large-scale construction works are underway along the road passing through difficult terrain, with artificial structures and drainage systems being built. For this purpose, a bridge with a length of 139.5 meters is being constructed at the 22nd kilometer of the road.

The construction of the new highway is being supervised by the State Agency of Azerbaijan’s Roads.
