Attempts by Azerbaijan to disrupt the military-political balance, which to this day have also been expressed through the use of force, are a threat to regional security and peace. This was stated on 27 August by the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, during a gathering with the heads of the central body of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic representations abroad.
“Armenia stands from the position of a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, but cannot accept Azerbaijan’s threats of overt or covert use of force, or any aspiration to make the ceasefire regime conditional. Azerbaijan’s efforts to conduct negotiations under conditions of tension hinder the formation of an environment conducive to peace, and accordingly, do not contribute to a lasting and comprehensive settlement of the issue. With its unchanged anti-Armenian policy, Azerbaijan continues to be a threat to the existence of the people of Artsakh. Peace has no alternative, and the RA and Artsakh have sufficient strength to ensure peace,” noted Mnatsakanyan.
