In the Machkalashen community of the Martuni district of Artsakh, Azerbaijanis had previously advanced their position and taken up deployment in the neutral zone. Thanks to the steps taken by the community’s residents and its leader, Russian peacekeepers arrived at the scene, who, through negotiations with the Azerbaijanis, succeeded in sending them back to their starting position, but they advanced the condition that the Artsakh flag placed on the nearby Amaras monastery be taken down.
Lernik Avanesyan, the head of the Machkalashen community, confirmed this information, that they had advanced their position, and regarding the flag, he said that the Russian commander told the Armenian soldiers to take down the Artsakh flag and put up the Armenian one.
