Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed during a telephone conversation the speedy launch of peace negotiations between Baku and Yerevan, Azerbaijani media reported.
“At the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, a telephone conversation took place on Tuesday with Azerbaijani President Aliyev, the press service of the Azerbaijani head of state reported.
The French President informed Aliyev about his meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which took place on 26 September.
The Azerbaijani President expressed his gratitude for the information provided. During the conversation, the clash that took place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was also discussed. The heads of state discussed the speedy launch of peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” the statement said.
The Elysee Palace press service also reports that the head of state reaffirmed his demand to respect Armenia’s territorial integrity. He once again called on Ilham Aliyev to return to the ceasefire regime and to return the troops to their initial positions:
