Azerbaijani deputies Soltan Mamedov and Tahir Mirgishili, in Yerevan to participate in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, visited the Iranian Blue Mosque on Mashtots Avenue and called it “Azerbaijani.”
“We visited the Blue Mosque. As far as we know, this is the only Azerbaijani monument preserved in Yerevan. Although the inscriptions on the walls belong to another country, the walls, the architecture and the spirit belong only to us. We believe that one day the true owners of this mosque will be able to raise their prayers. And the prayers of Azerbaijanis are good and in the end they are fulfilled,” they said.
Let us recall that on February 21-22, Azerbaijani deputies arrived in Yerevan within the framework of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Yerevan.
“Two deputies and one escort came. As far as I remember, one deputy is non-partisan, the other is a member of the ruling ‘New Azerbaijan’ party,” said Maria Karapetyan.
