Azerbaijani forces closed the Goris-Stepanakert highway overnight, the section between the villages of Aghavno and Tegh. This was announced by the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh.
“The new Tegh-Kornidzor dirt road in the Syunik Province, which bypasses the closed road and connects to the new Kornidzor-Hin Shen road (the ‘Berdzor (Lachin) corridor’) that was put into operation in August 2022, is already ready. Asphalting works on the aforementioned Tegh-Kornidzor road are underway by the Republic of Armenia,” the statement said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that the Tegh-Kornidzor dirt road is passable and, taking into account the ongoing blockade of Artsakh, it is possible to carry out humanitarian supplies to Artsakh through that road by the Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross. That road, incidentally, is controlled by the Russian peacekeeping forces near the Hakari River bridge on the border of the Republic of Artsakh.
Let us recall that since December 12, 2022, the Azerbaijani side has closed the Shushi section of the interstate highway connecting Artsakh to Armenia. And for 108 days now, the population of Artsakh has been deprived of connection with the outside world.
