Azerbaijan, thanks to the exclusive mediation efforts of the Russian Federation, with the participation of the ICRC and the field team of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, has handed over to the Armenian side the bodies of 29 Armenian servicemen killed during the military operations. Defense Ministry spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan wrote this on her Facebook page, noting that at the same time, through the efforts of the ICRC, one civilian was returned to Armenia.
“The Armenian side, in turn, remaining faithful to the agreements reached within the framework of the humanitarian ceasefire, again expresses its readiness to hand over to the Azerbaijani side the bodies of Azerbaijani servicemen located in the territory of Artsakh, to begin the process of removing remains from the interpositional zone along the entire length of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan frontline as a result of military operations, as well as the exchange of information regarding prisoners of war and the subsequent exchange of the latter,” Stepanyan wrote.
