On September 25, 2022, elections for local self-government bodies have been scheduled in 18 communities of the Republic of Armenia.
Local self-government body elections will take place:
– In the Alagyaz, Tsaghkahovit, and Talin communities of the Aragatsotn Province
– In the Chambarak community of the Gegharkunik Province
– In the Gyulagarak, Alaverdi, Lori Berd, and Tashir communities of the Lori Province
– In the Charentsavan, Akunk, Byureghavan, and Jrvezh communities of the Kotayk Province
– In the Ani community of the Shirak Province
– In the Sisian and Kajaran communities of the Syunik Province
– In the Areni and Yeghegis communities of the Vayots Dzor Province
– In the Berd community of the Tavush Province
In the Alagyaz community of the Aragatsotn Province, elections for the community head and council members will be held under the majoritarian electoral system, while in the other communities, council elections will be held under the proportional electoral system.
As reported by the Central Electoral Commission, 25 parties and party alliances have submitted nomination documents for the local self-government body elections.
The “Civil Contract” party has submitted nomination documents in all 18 communities where local government elections will be held.
The “Country of Living” party has nominated its candidate in 5 communities.
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation will participate in the elections to be held in 4 communities.
The “Fair Armenia” party and the “United Community” alliance will ensure their participation in the elections to be held in two communities.
The “Bright Armenia”, “Strong Community”, “Nzhdehian Tseghakron”, “Stability”, “Democratic Alternative”, “For the People”, “Armenian National Congress”, “Consolidation”, “Unity”, “Nation-Community”, “Armenian Dream”, “Labor and Justice”, “Developing Community”, “Alliance of Defenders of the Republic’s Democracy”, “One Armenia”, “Toward Unity”, “Ascension”, “Liberal”, “Dignified Generation”, “Powerful Community” parties and party alliances have been nominated in single communities:
