The duties of the acting Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia have been assigned to the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Kamo Kochunts. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
According to information, for the appointment of the acting Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense, the question was raised regarding two candidates: the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Kamo Kochunts, and Arakel Martikyan.
Earlier, on February 24, Artak Davtyan was relieved of the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. On the same day, a number of other personnel changes—dismissals and appointments—took place within the General Staff.
