The Armenian Democratic Liberal Party convened its regular 28th General Delegate Assembly in the homeland’s capital city, Yerevan, on May 23–25, 2019.
All authorized representatives of the ADL’s worldwide chapters participated in this supreme legislative assembly.
At the conclusion of its three-day proceedings, the Assembly reached decisions on important issues of direct concern to the Armenian people and the ADL.
In this regard, the following communiqué is published:
- The ADL’s creed and commitment has been and remains to serve always the supreme interests of the Armenian people. Consequently, it reaffirms its complete devotion to our people, in the Homeland and abroad. In this regard, the ADL expresses its unconditional solidarity with the homeland’s statehood, in the interest of its strengthening and endurance. The ADL is unambiguously zealous that the security, tranquility and consistent prosperity of our sisters and brothers residing in the homeland be permanently guaranteed, placing our people’s inviolable right to live in an environment of equality and free of corruption above any other consideration. The Delegate Assembly enthusiastically records that the fundamental ideological principles of democracy and human rights espoused by the ADL are currently in the process of implementation in the mother homeland.
- The Party resolutely reaffirms its complete fidelity to the unshakeable faith of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
- The Delegate Assembly emphasizes that Artsakh is an inseparable part of our homeland; therefore, the solidarity of the entire Armenian nation with the Republic of Artsakh must be unconditional and complete. It is the unshakable conviction of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party that the Artsakh issue must be resolved in accordance with the principles of human rights and the sacred right of peoples to self-determination, and that the official representative of Artsakh must necessarily participate in the negotiations seeking a solution.
- The Armenians of Javakhk constitute an integral part of the Armenian people. Therefore, the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party is more than zealous that all human rights of the Armenians of Javakhk be fully respected, guaranteeing their continued well-being.
- The ADL remains a faithful soldier of the sacred mission of pursuing the issue of concern to the Armenian people in general and the diaspora Armenians in particular, namely the Armenian Cause and Armenian claims. In this regard, it resolves to multiply and intensify its comprehensive forces, to become more than ever an uncompromising devotee of that sacred and timeless goal.
- Considering the increasingly difficult conditions of national preservation in the diaspora, the ADL resolves to undertake with renewed vigor the patriotic mission of addressing the present needs of our people.
- While the attention and thoughts of the entire Armenian people remain fixed on the daily agonizing emotions of the Syrian-Armenian community, this Assembly emphasizes that our sisters and brothers afflicted in Syria must be assisted with unreserved and growing dedication.
- Always guided by its zeal to serve the supreme interests of the Armenian people, the ADL expresses its readiness to cooperate with all those structures in the diaspora that share the same commitment to consolidate, harmonize and make effective the work carried out toward that end, without ever being constrained by artificial frameworks, whether old or new.
- The ADL expects from the homeland’s authorities that all necessary measures be taken to prevent the phenomenon of emigration, which constitutes a worrying trend, considering it a danger threatening the very existence of the homeland, and in this regard addresses a call to the collective vigilance of the Armenian people to halt by every effort that dangerous and horrifying process.
- Appreciating the outgoing ADL Central Board and all its devoted activities during the past three years, the ADL Delegate Assembly concluded its work by electing the Party’s new Central Board.
- This historic session closed by renewing the sacred covenant to which the ADL is enlisted, greeting all members and supporters of the Party without distinction, greeting the homeland and all Armenians.
Long live the Armenian people,
Long live the Armenian’s Homeland and heroic Artsakh
Long live the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party
