One of the servicemen killed as a result of the Azerbaijani attack last night — David Garnik Kocharyan — was from the village of Chinchin in Tavush Province, born in 2001.
David Kocharyan was a serviceman of one year, a participant in the 44-day war. He was the youngest child in the family, with one older sister.
Let us recall that on 28 July, at around 03:40, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units once again resorted to provocation and violated the ceasefire on the north-eastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. According to the Ministry of Defence’s report, local battles were under way. As of 08:30, the Armenian side had three dead and four wounded.
According to the Ministry of Defence, as of 09:20, the Azerbaijani units, having suffered losses, were pushed back to their starting positions. The exchange of fire continued.
Later, the Ministry of Defence announced that, through the mediation of the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces, an agreement had been reached on restoring the ceasefire regime on the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces on the north-eastern direction. At present, the said agreement is being largely implemented.
