The diaspora is also involved in the “100 Homes in Artsakh” project. The project is being implemented by the Public Television Company and the “Live in Artsakh” foundation. The goal is to provide homes to socially vulnerable, large families and families of fallen servicemen.
“At this moment we already have beneficiaries who are being registered with the Artsakh Ministry of Social Security, and several families have already visited and seen the construction progress. They are waiting with great desire and faith to receive the homes,” said Samuel Movsisyan.
The homes will be built near the village of Dahrav in Askeran, 16 kilometres from Stepanakert.
Donations can be made both via SMS messages and on the apreluartsakh.am website. Donors who donate an entire home to Artsakh residents can be hosted in Dahrav and follow the construction work taking place in the village.
“In the coming months there will be various programmes, including televised and non-televised ones, and informational meetings will be organised in various diaspora centres with our compatriots for the purpose of fundraising,” said Anna Ohanyan.
Funds have already been collected for the construction of about 10 homes. The project is planned to be completed next year.
“A request, an appeal to our compatriots in the diaspora, that everyone set aside all feelings and, by participating in the programme even with small amounts, we try together to bring it to life,” said the co-founder of the project.
According to the organisers of the project, now is the time to rebuild Artsakh and stand by the side of the Artsakh people. After the completion of this project, they must also focus on educational and economic projects.
