On 21 January, at 23:23 local time (19:23 GMT), the Territorial Service for Seismic Protection of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8, at geographic coordinates 39.50⁰ north latitude and 45.52⁰ east longitude, in the Nakhijevan-Armenia border zone, 33 km northeast of the city of Nakhijevan, at a depth of 10 km. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The intensity of the underground tremor at the epicenter was 5 degrees.
The earthquake was felt in the towns of Vayk and Yeghegnadzor in Vayots Dzor Province and in a number of settlements in Syunik Province, with an intensity of 3-4 degrees.
