The leading French company Thales Group continues to study Armenia, outlining the directions through which it may be possible in the future to lay the groundwork for new Armenian-French cooperation.
At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, a delegation from Thales Group visited Armenia once again, this time with a larger and more representative composition.
During the few days of the visit, representatives of the company’s leadership managed to hold meetings with representatives of the RA government, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Industry Tigran Khachatryan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Gegham Vardanyan, visited leading technology companies, particularly Synopsys Armenia, BetConstruct, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, met with representatives of Armenian startups, and studied Armenia’s experience in the high-tech sector.
At the end of the visit, the company’s vice president and regional director Paul Rémim, who had already come to Armenia for the third time, noted during a conversation with journalists that “The purpose of our visit is to gather as much information as possible within the framework of the working group established between Armenia and Thales, to clarify the areas of capability through which we can have a presence in your country,” he stated.
Let us recall that in June 2019, RA President Armen Sarkissian visited the Thales Group pavilion during the international exhibition at Le Bourget (near Paris) and met with the company’s president Patrice Caine, and an agreement was reached to organize a visit of Thales Group representatives to Armenia, as well as to create working groups to examine the document already prepared regarding clear directions of cooperation.
