In Armenia, during January-August 2019, 5,007.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced, which is 5% less than in the same period of 2018.
According to data published by the Statistical Committee, during the eight months of this year, production at thermal power plants (TPPs) decreased by 10%, amounting to 1,994.2 million kilowatt-hours, while thermal energy production decreased by 30.9%, amounting to 17.9 thousand gigajoules.
The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) also produced 1,203.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 6.2% less than in January-August 2018.
As for hydroelectric power plants (HPPs), production volumes here increased by 6.7%, amounting to 1,798.7 million kilowatt-hours.
According to statistics, during the eight months of this year, solar power plants in the republic produced 9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, increasing 2.9-fold compared to the same period of 2018, while wind power plants produced 2.3 million kilowatt-hours, increasing 2.3-fold.
