The situation in the Republic is currently stable but tense. The upper sub-districts of Askeran — the villages of Avetaranots, Madataschen, Sghnakh and Moshkhmhat — are again under enemy fire. This was stated in an interview with Armenpress by Hunan Tadevosyan, officer of the information and public relations department of the Artsakh State Emergency Service, summarising the situation in Artsakh’s populated areas.
“The situation in the Republic is currently stable but tense. Tension persists in the upper sub-districts of Askeran — in the villages of Avetaranots, Madataschen, Sghnakh and Moshkhmhat — owing to the enemy’s reconnaissance infiltration attempts, and both our and the enemy’s artillery units are active,” Tadevosyan said.
As for the Martakert and Martuni sectors, Tadevosyan reported that the situation there is relatively calm.
“In Martuni, an air alert was declared during the daytime hours — an unmanned aerial vehicle had been spotted in the sky,” Tadevosyan said.
According to the representative of the Artsakh Emergency Service, the situation in the capital Stepanakert was also calm during the day.
