As of this moment, the Armenian side has 2 interrogated prisoners of war from the Azerbaijani side, stated the head of the Criminalistics Department of the Investigative Committee, Rafael Vardanyan, during a press conference held at the Investigative Committee.
“They are being held in compliance with all international humanitarian law standards, receiving appropriate medical care at the highest level, with food and all other requirements ensured. Even during the interrogation, one of them noted that in Azerbaijan he would hardly have received better treatment,” said Rafael Vardanyan.
The Armenian side currently has 17 servicemen who are in Azerbaijan.
“Their data has been confirmed, and in the case of two, it is being confirmed. We are working with the Armenian representation in the ECHR and the interdepartmental commission on prisoners of war of the Ministry of Defense,” he said.
