Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan are to meet in Prague on 6 October within the framework of the European Political Community summit. This was reported by the newspaper Sabah, citing its sources.
The Turkish leader had announced the possibility of such a meeting in his speech of 1 October.
Sabah noted that the talks are expected to discuss the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Turkey. In particular, Erdogan is preparing to propose to Pashinyan that meetings of special representatives on the normalisation of bilateral relations be held alternately in Turkey and Armenia, rather than on the territory of third countries.
In addition, the President of Turkey is to put forward proposals for easing tensions in the region and for the rapid signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the Armenian side has neither denied nor confirmed the news of this meeting.
