The European Commission adopted two new decisions on 28 October, confirming that the COVID-19 certificates presented by Armenia and the United Kingdom are equivalent to the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificates. The decision enters into force on 29 October.
As a result of the decision, Armenia and Great Britain will join the EU system, and the certificates they issue will be accepted in the European Union under the same conditions as the digital certificate.
At the same time, Armenia and the United Kingdom have agreed to recognise the EU digital certificates in terms of accepting travellers from European countries.
According to European Commission representative Didier Reynders, currently 45 countries representing 4 continents have joined the digital COVID-19 certificate system.
