The best format for negotiations on unblocking transport communications in the South Caucasus is the trilateral working group, co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, speaking about Moscow’s position regarding the disagreements between Yerevan and Baku over the “Zangezur corridor.”
According to her, eight sessions have already been held in this format, and all parties have highly assessed the activities of the working group. “We consider it right to remain faithful to the statements and steps that contribute to the implementation of trilateral agreements on unblocking economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus,” Zakharova noted.
